Brief from Digital OpinionDigital Opinion is a leading employee engagement firm. They advise companies on how to maximise engagement and link it to key business performance metrics. Their brief to us was clear: to produce a video case study and testimonial that told a success story. They wanted it to be of interest to Human Resource Directors and differentiate Digital Opinion from its competitors. They selected one of their most valued customers, Mitchells and Butlers - the UK’s leading operator of restaurants and pubs, to feature in the video. Digital Opinion had just completed a successful project for them that included an employee engagement survey for 40,000 employees in the UK and Germany. We worked closely with Digital Opinion’s marketing people to plan, film and edit the video production. The close working relationship was crucial in making sure the end result matched their requirements exactly. See our video on their front page www.digitalopinion.co.uk or call 020 8546 7243 Mitchells and Butlers - Employee engagement projectDulcie Shepherd is Head of Corporate Human Resources at Mitchells and Butlers, owner of restaurant and pub chains including Harvester, O'Neill's and All-Bar-One. The company has a £2bn annual turnover and employs 40,000 people. From an employee survey produced and managed by Digital Opinion Dulcie Shepherd has been able to identify that the higher the level of commitment in a particular pub or restaurant, the better the quality of food and service. Mark at Digital Opinion says that the links between employee engagement, customer satisfaction and organisational performance are beyond question. However, high levels of engagement are far from being the norm. Indeed, recent research from Towers Perrin1 describes employee disengagement as a global epidemic. Therefore, the challenge for many companies is to properly measure engagement, identify its key drivers and create a culture is which engagement becomes "the way we do things around here".
